Corporate Social Responsiblity

Goodyear's commitment to our communities is a vital part of our corporate initiative. It is the company's goal to promote healthy, high functioning communities in locations where our major plants and offices reside. Our continuing quest is to be a socially aware and responsive global citizen wherever we operate or do business.

As a corporate citizen, Goodyear participates in organizations that seek to provide opportunities for civic, economic, and educational growth, and social and physical health. Participation takes various forms and includes philanthropic initiatives, such as gifts, grants, sponsorships, in-kind donations, and volunteerism.

Individually, Goodyear associates fill key roles in civic, educational, governmental and community organizations. Volunteer efforts are growing to meet the increasing need for community support in the locations where we work around the world.

WIL is a global initiative that started in 2004 across Goodyear Asia Pacific.

The WIL India chapter was inaugurated by Mr Capellini 每 CMD India, on October 20, 2004 with 12 members on board.

With the encouraging and highly motivating words from Mr Cohade and Ms Wang, and with the support and commitment from the India Leadership Team, headed by Mr Capellini, the WIL team is committed to move ahead with CIS as its theme and in meeting business objectives.

Corporate Social Responsibility

The first step towards ※CSR§ 每 Corporate Social Responsibility of WIL was to visit a Village School near our Plant - Tender Hearts School" has 150 children in primary grades and about 50 teenage girls attending vocational training courses for self help.

The WIL Team along with Mr Robin Singh, visited the school & donated EIGHT computers (one's which have been replaced) for the use by the school children. We could see the brightness & the enthusiasm, the moment they got these. The WIL team also distributed a small gift (lunch box with candys) to each child which brought an instant smile on their faces and this itself was a moment of fulfillment.

This initiative has helped place our Company in High Esteem amongst the Villagers, the School Organisation & the Local District Administration.

Attached is a copy of their appreciation towards this noble cause.

※LETTER OF APPRECIATION§

A word of appreciation is all that it takes as a major contributor to boost up the morale of one and all.

And that too, for an activity for a cause#.. the much needed awareness on the positives of Blood Donation and effort that can help save somebody*s life.

Attached is a photograph and a ※Letter of Appreciation§ from the Rotary Club President, Mr BPS Puri 每 that in itself is a real boost for the WIL team and acknowledgment of the WIL efforts towards this social cause.

EVENT 3:CIS 每 PLANT TOUR

And Finally, the WIL team took the BIG LEAP, to understand its own manufacturing function better, especially with the advent of LEAN SIX SIGMA under the CIS Umbrella#.

A Plant Tour was organized for the WIL Team on October 28th with the support of Mr Vivek Devgun, Plant Head and his team.
